Recticel Group has been included in the Financial Times list of European Climate Leaders for the first time and ranks 89th out of 600 European companies recognized for their progress in reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions.
In the Construction and Building Materials segment, the Recticel Group ranks 10th out of the 48 represented companies. This strong performance underscores the Group's commitment to future-oriented insulation and its ongoing efforts for a more energy-efficient and lower-carbon construction sector.
The annual list of European Climate Leaders is compiled by the Financial Times in collaboration with data provider Statista. The list highlights European companies that have achieved the greatest reduction in the intensity of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions over a five-year evaluation period. Companies are also assessed on their sustainability reporting, qualitative reporting of Scope 3 emissions, and their alignment with recognized climate initiatives and frameworks.
Reducing the carbon footprint is one of the six strategic pillars of ELEVATE 2030, the Recticel Group's growth plan aimed at value creation. The Group reached a significant milestone in its sustainability journey with the opening of a Belgian plant for the industrial-scale production of recycled polyol, valued at EUR 13 million, as announced on 13 May 2026. This facility will convert 4,000 tonnes of PIR waste into high-quality recycled polyol for the closed-loop production of new insulation boards, thereby significantly reducing the product's CO₂ footprint.
Stefaan Debusschere, CEO of Recticel Group, stated:
“Being recognized for the first time as one of the European Climate Leaders by the Financial Times is a significant milestone. This recognition reflects the collective commitment and ongoing efforts of our teams to achieve sustainable growth on a large scale and to accelerate the transition to more energy-efficient and circular building solutions.”
