Environmental & Sustainability Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) following European and national schemes. Maintain LCA software, implement and update Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) for our entire product portfolio.
• Implement, together with the H&E Affairs and certification Expert, Sustainability and Circular Economy initiatives for our division.
• Monitor and follow up specific sustainability and health & environmental related legislation issues such as dangerous substances, EPD’s, Waste, Green building rating schemes, Ecolabels and eco databases.  Provide internal reporting on these topics for roll out in the organisation.
• Responsible for the content management of ISO & EN standards on H&E product and sustainability related issues: (read and implement standards)
• Monitor and follow up national and European initiatives and provide reporting on Green Building Rating systems, Renovation wave, Energy Efficiency, Eco design, EPBD (Energy Performance of Building Directive), ….
• Sustainability content & knowledge management: provide training, share information and practical support to internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and report on market trends and executive benchmark studies on Sustainability related topics

Your profile

• Master or Bachelor, with an international mindset.
• You are familiar with sustainability and H&E related topics like EPD’s, LCA’s, etc.
• Operational in working with tools e.g. input in Eco labels and databases, calculation tools.  Knowledge of EPD/LCA software is a plus.
• Hands-on mentality, able to work independently
• You are communicative and have good reporting skills
• Able to translate an inquiry into a concrete project and ensure the implementation. Able to capture future opportunities & trends.
• Languages: Dutch and English.  French is an added value.
