Optimising Care Home Construction with Eurothane® GP

The Tenpenny Hill project in Alresford, Colchester, involved building a new 9-bed special needs care home. T&D Contractors needed an insulation solution that not only met the required specifications but also offered a cost-effective alternative to the originally specified product.

Lee Jenner, External Salesperson at Longwater Construction Supplies, played a key role in supplying the building materials, both from the yard and direct to site, ensuring seamless delivery throughout the project.

Initially, the architect had specified a competitor’s insulation product. However, the contractor was open to alternatives that could demonstrate compliance with thermal performance and technical requirements. Recticel Eurothane® GP was proposed as the solution. Technical datasheets confirmed that it met all required lambda values and specification criteria, giving the contractor confidence to proceed.

Approximately 450 m² of Recticel Eurothane® GP was supplied, supporting the project with full-load, direct-to-site deliveries and offering a competitive value in the market. The insulation solution met all specification requirements while helping the contractor achieve cost savings and maintain reliable site logistics.

Outcome:
The Tenpenny Hill project successfully adopted Recticel Eurothane® GP, combining technical compliance with efficiency and cost-effectiveness, demonstrating Recticel’s ability to deliver practical, reliable insulation solutions for care home construction.
